Rules:

  • 1. Don't be an ass. This means no trolling, no sealioning, no arguing in bad faith, and take drama outside.
  • 2. No sneakily getting around rule 1.
  • 3. The Free Exchange of Ideas does not include bigotry.
  • 4. No guns.

---

Expectations (Code of Conduct):
  • A basic understanding of safety and how to handle hot metal, molten plastic, polyfluoroalkyls, moving parts under high torque, allergy-sensitive epoxy resins, basic internet security, solder flux, and high-current electricity without putting yourself in danger.
  • An ability to treat other people as human beings, respecting and accommodating for differences of opinion while also understanding that some opinions are intolerable and incompatible with this expectation (like "some people are subhuman". There, I had to spell it out.)
  • A willingness to learn new things and change old behaviors in order to improve as a maker, a doer, and as a person.
  • Being nice to cats.
---

Other Things To Keep In Mind, or, Things That Are Not So Much Expectations As Guiding Principles:

:star: "Best" is a misleading word. There is no "best", there is only "best for your use case". What is best for you may not be best for someone else.

:stars: Always keep an open mind. Speak with the intent to listen, not with the intent to reply.

:eight_pointed_black_star: Try new things.

:custard: We take care of each other. Be responsible for your friends.
